Topic: How do you know if a man/boy truly loves you

You can only determine if a man/boy truly loves you based on God's definition of True Love in the Bible:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

Questions to ask yourself about him:

• Love is patient (Is he patient with me?)

• Love is kind (Is he kind to me?)

• Love does not envy (Does he envy me?)

• Love does not boast (Is he boastful?)

• Love is not proud (Is he arrogant?)

• Love is not rude (Is he rude?)

• Love is not self-seeking (Is he selfish?)

• Love is not easily angered (Does he get angry very easy?)

• Love keeps no record of wrongs. (Is he forgiving of me?)

• Love does not delight in evil (Does he like to do bad things and want me to do wrong things?)

• Love rejoices with the truth. (Does he lie about things?)

• Love always protects (Would he protect me in times of need?)

• Love always trusts (Can I trust him?)

• Love always hopes (Does he want the best for me?)

• Love always perseveres (Does he always work hard to help me?)

More details to ask yourself about him:

• Love is not rude (Is he rude to me?) (treats me and others badly; uncaring; impolite; does not care how he treats me or others)

• Love is not self-seeking (Is he selfish?) (mostly concerned about himself; wants what he wants regardless if it can hurt me or others; for example: pressures me to have sex before marriage)

• Love is not easily angered (Does he get angry very easy?) (gets mad at me a lot; likes to argue or fight; beats on me or abuses me physically and mentally)

• Love keeps no record of wrongs. (Is he forgiving of me?) (always remembers my faults and mistakes; continues to hold them against me; wants to make me pay for them)

• Love does not delight in evil (Does he do or lead me to do wrong things?) (does he like to do mean, bad or hurtful things to me or others; does he want to make me do bad things to others)

• Love rejoices with the truth. (Does he lie to me about things?) (does he lie a lot; does he lie to me and others; does he lead me to lie to others; for example: lie to my parents, friends, etc.)

• Love always protects (Does he protect me?) (cover or protects me from danger or dangerous or bad situations (for example: unwanted pregnancy or STDs); will he protect and provide for me and our family after marriage; does he have a honest job and always be committed to taking good care of me and our children after marriage)

• Love always trusts (Can I trust him?) (can I depend on him; will he be faithful to me; will he tell me the truth)

• Love always hopes (Does he want the best for me?) (does he encourage me; does he believe in me; want the best for me; (for example: if he want wants the best for me, he will not want me to have sex before marriage because it can ruin my future with unplanned pregnancy, baby I cannot take care of, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.))

• Love always perseveres (Does he always work hard to help me?) (will he hang in there with me during tough times; will he leave me in tough times or bad situations; (for example: if got pregnant or HIV/AIDs))
